Brass jewelry, like the living breathing bayou, has a life cycle. Over time it will change as it is exposed to air. This transformation takes time and depends on factors such as weather conditions, frequency of wear, and skin chemistry. For some, direct contact with brass may cause the skin to turn slightly green. This is not harmful and can easily be washed off.
To prolong the life of your brass jewelry do not to wear it in the shower, pool, sauna, or during any period of severe perspiration.
If you would like to remove signs of age from your brass jewelry please do not use chemical liquid cleaners. Only use super-fine steel wool (grade #0000) to buff the piece back to its light golden hue. Please be mindful of any stones while cleaning. Do not allow the steel wool to come into contact with stones as they may become damaged.
Do not use steel wool on any patinated areas of your piece as this will remove the finish. Any accidental finish removal may be corrected for a small fee. Please contact me if this occurs. All instances will be handled on a case by case basis.
